Do I need a transit visa for the U.S enroute to Mexico / Central America? Just connecting flights and not even leaving airport! Thanks!

If you are an European citizen than you just need a valid ESTA.

An ESTA even just for passing through? How quick can that be arranged 3/4 days possible? Thanks!

    You apply online: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

Needed even for just passing through. Approval/denial is normally immediate.

As far as I can remember, you still go through immigration when just passing through (at least I did when flying to Mexico City through JFK).
