BMW boot won't open

Hi, got home from doing the grocery shopping this eve and opened the boot of my 2008 320 coupe. OH closed the boot and when tried to open again it won't! It's an electric boot that we open with my key fob. Other way to open the boot is automatically by hand. But there is no lever or key opening for the boot. So I'm guessing it may be something to do with the electronics?? However the fob still opens the locks on the main doors so the electronics there are fine. Has this happened to anyone else?? If so how'd u get the boot open? Worried that this is going to cost a bit to get fixed if it is to do with the electronics...
    Thanks

Is there a release behind the back seat?

Did you try the blade of the key in the boot lock? The problem could be related to frayed wiring between the car & bootlid due to the movement of the cables when opening & closing the bootlid.
The other potential issue is someone locked the boot with the key blade which prevents the remote opening function.
Your key has a blade in the top of the fob.

my guess is you have part of a shopping bag caught in the latch, try pushing / pulling on the lid as you operate release.

Nope (not that I know of anyway). The only lever would be for the back seats to come forward but that lever is in the boot itself.

There should be a manual lock under the boot lid, the fob has a key blade in it that will open the driver's door and boot.

Boot doesn't have a lock? Not to my knowledge anyway :-(. It's all electric I think. Unless there is a lock I don't know about??! If there is can u tell me where it's located... Have just checked and can't find anywhere and it's something I've never used.

Read my post above, it does have a lock. It is located on the underside of the boot lid where the number plate lights are fitted.

The fob has a blade in it to open it:

Thanks Bazz... Didn't know that lock existed! But just tried to open it via the lock with the key blade... Still wont open! Will just have to take it into the garage tomorrow me thinks. Maybe there is a bag or something stuck in the latch.... :-(
