Thanks :). I hope its just that cos I thought I head somewhere that it had gone up to €60 recently .

Either way, I guess Ill be finding out in the next week or so . Got nabbed on Cornmarket St this evening. I was literally 5 minutes in the shop and only parked where I did cos I was buying something that was too heavy to carry around and he was writing my car up on the handheld thing when I came out :(.

The last time I had a parking fine sent to me was around 4 years ago and in error as I wasnt parked where they said I was at the time and the make and model of the car was wrong as well. The fine was €40 back then alright so I just hope it hasnt gone up.

Did he not serve the notice?

Did he not serve the notice?

Nope. He filled in the details on his little handheld computer thing. I thought I might have got to him in time but he said it was already "in" so there was no hope after that and he said that it would come in the post.

I never got a parking fine before so I dont know if they leave the notice on the cars anymore but it seems not.

There were actually 2 wardens there and they were having a field day as there was a lot of cars parked where I was and they were writing them all up.

How much was the fine for and how long ago was this?

Another general question, what happens if you were to not pay it? Just curious.

If you don't pay they take you to court.

    €40 normally.

You were spot on the mark there. It just arrived now. €40 for the first 28 days and then it goes up to €60 for the next 28 days after that.

For future reference when the next poor sod gets nabbed and comes in here trying to find out ;).
