desktop.ini on DVD rW

    I had files on a dvd [mostly excel files].

    Now, they have have disappeared and a 'desktop.ini' file has appeared.

    What is this? And is there any way to get my files back???

    Could windows disc writer be waiting to write it perhaps? Can you try the disc in another computer?

    You could switch to cloud storage if you get them back, if you have a google account, 5GBs free on Google Drive.
