    Did you run a memory test? Save anything that's open, then:

    In Windows, type "mdsched" (without the quotes) and choose "Restart now and check for problems"

    Wait for the memory check to complete, it will take a while.

    is that screen shoot up to date

    PC time is year 2008 and you dont have service pack 1 installed
    ??

    it's also 1/1 so most likely date/time not set in BIOS

    time should be set to pick up the latest drivers / patches / updates, perhaps that would include chipset drivers ??

    Reset bios to setup defaults ( optimise later ) ( turn off fast boot for a while )
    - some bioses had an OS install mode with less RAM visible
    - some server bioses have an option to mirror the ram (!)
    set date/time correctly
    let windows update itself
    - check device manager to make sure all OK

    try the 4GB simm on it's own to see if windows recognises more than 2GB of it

    populate the slowest ram in the slot nearest the CPU

    If the BIOS wasn't seeing 6GB then I'd have already moved the thread.
