Ok, had a few calls recently about sky hd channels suffering from small freezing or juddering. Been out and checked dish alignment and they were spot on. Got a call to say it was happening again (during rugby) today so went to see for myself. And there was a judder with a few pixilations every so often. This mainly happened on sport channels. SD channels seemed ok. The sky box in question is an old one, which I think has recently had software updates. I had a look on the sky forum and its actually been reported a few times recently, but no answer or comment from sky reps.

ECM's have been much higher on their HD channels as recent - Sky are upping their game against CS I'd say.

would that effect legit sky+ boxes then? If it does its a poor show as even though these pauses were slight, it was annoying. Your mans text me again to say its happening again on hd. But not sports SD.

Just been reading on digital spy it seems quite common on older boxes that have had the new epg upgrade. Its also been reported on the sky forum.

Similar problem from this Forum here.. http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/no_or_bad_signal_on_hd_channels-950919/

Was sorted with a dish re-alignment,and a new lnb.

Before spending money on a new LNB, just disconnect and reconnect the 'F' plugs a few times. The bare copper wires develop fine surface corrosion that creates a bad connection. Long term solution is to remake the connection (cut back to bright copper) and apply silicone grease to prevent problems in the future.
