    Hey,
anyone got any recommendations for a good, waterproof cart bag?
I currently have a powakaddy bag which is great, but not waterproof at all :(

I like to leave everything in the bag all the time, so Id need a big one, full dividers with a putter well and ideally an umbrella slot (so you can just shove the umbrella in and out without closing properly)

Looking to spend no more than €150 ideally...

    Cheers!

Sun Mountain H2NO are the cart bags to aim for but they may require another 70 added to your budget. Titleist Stadry is only in a carry option, same material as the Sun Mountain, both are excellent bags.

was looking at the H2NO online alright, looks nice but have never seen it in a shop, any ideas where I would see it?

Dont want a carry as I have a pencil bag for that, I treat my cart bag like the boot of my car...its has everything I could possibly ever need during a round of golf :)

Why not get a powakaddy rain cover for your bag? They are about €30 incl delivery on eBay.

If you use a powakaddy electric trolley, make sure to get a bag with the groove on the bottom to make sure it doesn't twist. The raincover might be a better compromise than buying a bag that twists on the trolley.

I get my gear from a site I recommend a good bit on here but I find myself doing it allot lately so I will lay off however closer to home you could try this...

and then inquire about the Sun Mountain whilst there. The lads in the shop will know Sun Mountain as its a premier brand but difficult to find stockists

The titleist reverse cart bag is totally waterproof. Have one myself and find it brilliant. Around €140

I have a rain cover for it but I find them a bit of a pain in the hole to be honest.

I use the powakaddy bag on a golf glider, it never did twist but to make sure I cut 2 thin grooves into the base that sit perfectly on the base of the golf glider, never moves, no straps required, my plan would be to do the same with any other bag I get.

    Mc Guiver in the making

I have the sun mountain h2no bag myself its very good
The sun mountain and Titleist bags are the exact same almost stitch for stitch
    Same strap system same legs
Probably made in the same factory in china
As for their waterproofness it's the pockets that are totally sealed to keep water out

I'd suggest any type of plastic/ leather type bag will do,with a hard cover for the really wet days and the cover if your playing on the monsoons
Just one with a hard top not the crappy nylon ones
There's a Powakaddy one for around €160 or the Titleist one possibly mentioned earlier depending on th e hood

I suppose a bag made of the harder materials really
Or if your in Mc Guiver mode one made from banana skins perhaps

How much room is in the bag, compared to the powakaddy one?

(Banana skins rot, I've been down that toad before)

btw noticed a handy feature in a ping cart bag yesterday, there is a zip inside the main pocket that lets you reach in to recover all those things that you lose down the middle of your bag...very handy!

Sorry it's the carry version I have in the h2no
I have an older Powakaddy model on the cart but rarely use it maybe in summer

Have you looked at the Motocaddy pro series cart bag. Has the putter well and umbrella slot and 14 full length dividers. Meant to be waterproof from the reviews that I have read. Bought one myself this weekend but haven't put it to the test yet.

Have the H2NO cart bag for a year now. Played a lot of golf in a lot of rain and can't fault it, doesn't let a drop in. Got mine as a present but see GolfStoreEurope do them for 222 euro and Gamola Golf do them for 160 pounds sterling - http://www.gamolagolf.co.uk/acatalog/Sun_Mountain_H20_Mens_Cart_Bag.html

Greebo did you get a bag in the end?

    And how has it performed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,370 ✭✭✭✭GreeBo

    Hey,

I actually didnt in the end, still have a powacaddy bag and waterproof spray it about once a year, I have the footjoy rain gloves so it kinda doesnt matter what gets wet tbh

half looking at a Titleist tour bag now, the leather finish should keep most of the rain off

These Sun Mountain bags seem to be out of stock everywhere.

The lack of carry bags that are waterproof, big enough to carry a full set but lightweight, is ridiculous.

Those that make them charge a fortune.

FWIW have the Titliest Stadry stand bag and whatever material its made of, its 100% waterproof - very impressive.

The leather tour bags may have some felt patches, which would require drying out before they start to smell.

If I had a cart - i'd go for the stadry (or sun mountain as I believe they are both made in same factory - just rebranded)

    Just my two cents

Has anyone tried the Callaway Aqua Dry bag? It is supposed to be waterproof.
I'm particularly interested in this bag as it seems to give you the two options of either carry or cart i.e. it's a waterproof carry bag that fits onto a trolley properly through their "tri-brid" system. I had a close look at them in Halpenny's and the bag has definitely big improvements in terms of the stand legs and base being designed to sit on a trolley properly. The only question that remains is how waterproof it actually is ?
