Weekend appreciation thread

Yesterday I finished a job that I hated where I had to work every weekend. Am starting a nice 9-5 Mon-Fri job on Monday and not having had a full weekend off in a few months I'm loving every minute of it so far.

Only got up at 12.30, haven't done much since, laying on the couch watching the Discovery Channel, drinking coffee with my OH and surfing the web. The greatest feeling of all though is knowing there's nowhere I have to go. (Worst case scenario, I'll have to go to Tesco for the shopping) Basically, I appreciate the laziness of this weekend :)

So what do other AH'ers appreciate about their weekend? (Presuming that you don't have to work, if you do, I'm truly sorry, I know your pain)

I worked weekends on and off for years and now I have exams, so it's all study. I massively prefer Mon-Fri when I can live a more active out and about life.
The weekend is a mess with the regular piss up crowd acting like the world is about to end. Looking at some guys on facebook it's absolutely desperate.
So the weekend holds very little pleasure fo me. The week has structure and activities, you get to meet people (not sh!tfaced) and have some craic, it's a pretty good deal. And lately I've been going insane without proper stimulation. Can't get no satisfaction, but at least I can have a few whiskeys.

    I love working weekends.
Nothing better than getting up early on a Sunday morning with a clear head.

Not so much a relaxing weekend for me but it will be enjoyable all the same. Soccer on now so I will be following my players fortunes in my Fantasy Football team for the next 2 hours, then it's time for beer and dog racing. Tomorrow I will be nursing a hangover while watching United v City.

Sometimes I have to work weekends.

I find it hard not to go out on Friday and Saturday nights even though I know I have to be up at 8 for work.

Those weekends are interesting. How hungover can I be before I can't actually get in to the office?

Very very very hungover is the answer.

After working very hard during the week, my weekends mostly consist of catching up on boxsets, a trip into town for a few thigs, maybe the cinema or even catch up over a drink with a college mate. Thats fine by me but I get some strange looks when I tell other people I have no plans to get drunk and act loud in pubs, you would swear thats the only purpose for some peoples lives but its not for everyone..

I don't know what kind of crowd you're running with that you can't meet with someone who's not shítfaced at the weekends!

Why does one need to be working for this to happen?

A lot of my crowd are in Canada and Australia. Not much of a crowd left tbh. And I think you just closed your account, making this reply a little redundant but maybe you'll still read it.
I'd love for people to leave a little note before they bumped off. I might do it myself one day..
