hey all, whats the best option for grease when assembling bike components?
I'm just replacing a bottom bracket, and it was the very devil to get the old one out. I've heard people recommend both silicon grease and copper grease - anyone got an opinion? thx

Finish Line teflon should be fine. My understanding is silicon grease is better suited to high temperatures and would transfer heat better than it would protect against friction. That would hardly be a concern on a bicycle though. Don't know about copper grease..

Silicon grease is usually used for greasing rubber/plastic parts (presumably because petroleum-derived products would ruin them). Can't see it being particularly beneficial in this case and afaik it's not cheap either.

Copper grease is apparently used to aid anti-seizing, so I guess it won't hurt.

Teflon grease is more meant for lubing bearings, moving parts etc. If you just want to make it easier to remove your BB I'd use common, automotive grease (but not the really thin grease that washes away).
