The twisted wreck will be displayed in town centres and outside nightclubs in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight in the hope it will persuade young people of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A father is displaying his dead daughter's wrecked car in a bid to stop people from boozing and getting behind the wheel this Christmas

The twisted wreck of this Vauxhall Corsa will be displayed in town centres and outside nightclubs in Hampshire

The unnamed 23-year-old woman who was four times over the drink-drive limit when she died last year
Its driver was just 23 when she lost control and collided with a van near Fleet last November. She was four times the drink-drive limit.
Under the campaign title Smashed, police are targeting the 20-24 age group, who are the worst offenders, accounting for more than one in five drink-drive arrests last Christmas.
The girl’s father wishes to remain anonymous, but said: 'I wanted to tell my story, her story, because I wanted people to see what devastation they can cause by making that choice.

Must be a hard thing for him to do but if it raises awareness and saves at least one life, fair play to him.

Nothing gets the message across quite like seeing the destruction drink driving can cause first hand.
Kudos to the dad. I can imagine how tough that must be.

Here when reporting on an accident we use stable or serious injuries.
In England the use "life changing".
    Much more effictive IMO.

Not to belittle the campaign as it's obviously well intended but regardless about alcohol involvement anyone involved in a serious car accident in a little Opel Corsa isn't going to come out well.

But you are far more likely to get into a crash in that corsa when you're drinking.

Yes, but also far less likely to survive a crash in one too. Anyway, don't want to drag this off topic.

I'm sure it will and its very brave of the family.

It must hurt them terribly to see other families suffer the same way they did/do.
