    That's a hydrometer, the tried and true and standard way of testing antifreeze since forever.
    They're available from pretty much any motor factors.
    They work fine, but you need to know which type of antifreeze you have (ethylene glycol or methanol) and they read differently depending on the temperature of the coolant.

    Refractomers are considered to be more accurate.
