Can anyone roughly tell how much of a price difference there is in feeding a .22 Hornet or .223? I recently put a deposit on a hornet, but im hearing better things about the .233 so im thinking of heading in and changing to a .233? ideas?

The hornet is expensive to feed, the 223 very cheap ammo and great variety, I believe anything from between 15-20 euro per box upwards, i believe the hornet is about 50 euro a box i would go for 223 personally

    Wha??..

50 for 50 really isn't expensive when you consider that those prices for the hornet are premium rounds..

    25 for 25 vmax..

    http://www.sportsden.ie/guns/gun-accessories/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/hornady-22-hornet-35gr-v-max.html

Quid a shot.. federal come in at 60 for 50..

Premium 223 works out more expensive..

Never came across cheaper range hornet.. but id imagine it would be under a quid a shot.

Hornet is cheaper (not by much..) much of a muchness but the 223 is a far more versatile calibre..

Plus all shops stock the rounds.

I had a hornet and a .223 and being honest id have a .223 hundred times over the hornet they are a decent little round but lack alot of punch compared to the .223 and the lack of variety of ammo for the hornet!

    Go for the .223!!

That's them. They chamber fine in my Tikka and group about 1 1/2 to 2" at 100 yds if i remember correctly. Grand for mid range foxes. But they sure do look funny being steel and all.

If you have 1 in 8 barrel, try 64g ammo. Very accurate with that twist in 223.

Have tried everything up to 75g and done the maths, to boot. Nothing shoots sub-moa except mid-sixties imho with this setup.

    1 in 12 twist excellent for 55g.
