I just need some advice on this from fellow boards users as I can't just discus it with anyone close to me at the moment.

For the past two years I've been working on a personal project which I started when I was employed. My employment unfortunately didn't last and I was let go because of a lack of work, this was March last year. I've since worked a few months here and there but nothing at all this year. I still stubbornly continued on with my project because I was adamant I was going to finish it before emigrating.

Lately I've come to the point where the end of my project is in sight but to do it properly I really need more cash to finish it. I've had a few interviews here and there but none successfully. I find myself at home bored with little to do, wasting time I guess, and i have been thinking about going to Oz. I'll be 30 next year which means I should probably decide and hurry up about Australia before I regret not going, which is something I really don't want to have 2yrs from now.

Just this week I've got talking to a few people and there's a possibility of work for 6-9 months starting Jan. It's not quite the industry I want to be in but closely related to it. I've not had interviews or anything but things have bneen set in motion.

My thinking is, sure I could stay here, work for these guys and finish the project before the summer and then think about emigrating. Or do I just decide not to waste anyone time and give someone else the opportunity to take up this position and go away in the new year. Earn a few quid, life some sort of life and not regret it before coming back home with a few quid in my pockets.

Apply for your Aussie WHV. I think you have a year to activate it once you get it. At least you have it to use then

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I think I read somewhere the price of them is going up also, must do it before the year is out.

Had my interview Monday, not sure it went to well. They had other applicants and I should hear something next week or before xmas at the latest.
