What was happening in Connolly, yesterday evening?

Was in Connolly yesterday evening about 5.15pm heading out to platform 5 when I was met by scores of people running in the opposite direction. My first thought was bomb scare or fire but then I saw them running up the platform on the other side. Had IE suddenly changed the departure time or platform for a train? One old lady was scared out of her wits.

Most likely a last minute platform alteration. Somepassengers like to be in a certain position on the train so when they get to their destination they can be one of the first off and into their car out of the station. Ive seen this happen before.

That happens most evenings. One of those DARTS that start in Greystones, is always late, and all the passengers looking to get on the Longford train from that DART need to run from the suburban platforms into the main station, and up for the Longford train (platform 3 I think). I see it most evenings. If the delay is only 5 mins it's just a powerwalk, but if it's 10 mins late it really is a mad dash :)

That could be it alright, it was a Longford train on the other platform, although I thought some of the people running had passed me going in the other direction, could be wrong about that. A bit scary if you haven't witnessed it before though.
