Book Recommendation

Hey all,

Looking for some advice on book for an Xmas prezzie. Want to get one that gives a general history of the wrist watch... not exactly a history book but one that looks at the different brands, styles and notable movements / watches through the 20th century.

Appreciate any recommendations.

There's a book called 1001 Wristwatches by Martin Häussermann that is often available in remainder bookshops in the UK for around a tenner and appears to be available from some Amazon sellers at around that price. It's more of a coffee table book rather than being a learned or academic tome but has plenty of pictures and deals with pretty much all of the main marques.

I'm very interested to see what other suggestions appear on this thread.
