    Hi,

I seem to remember ending up on the website of a music shop before (north Dublin perhaps?!) where they offered to match any other prices around, including places like Thomann. I don't suppose anyone here knows it do they?

    Thanks

Hey, cheers for that. Don't think that was it but it's good to know about that place anyway!

    X Music?

I used them a few years ago and I was very very pleased with how they undercut Thomann on everything. I was getting mics, cables, stands, interfaces. Maybe it is different now but may as well try.

depends on what you are buying as to whether they can go cheaper than the germans or not.

cheaper is not always better - if there's a chance you might have to return it then the postage will wipe out your savings. Big Bear are quite good - very competitive these days. A true pro-audio store

I like the 30 day money back guarantee with the likes of digital village and thomann. I have bought my fair share of equipment from shops over here, but sometimes that guarantee is a nice bit of insurance.

that's a good point because sometimes things sound great in the showroom but don't cut it in the field

Yeah, I'm buying an access virus which is a notoriously buggy piece of equipment. It may work in the shop but not in my 'studio', so I want to use it intensively and make a judgement towards the end of the 30 days. Just having that option is worth a lot.
