    Checked the fuse?
Do all doors lock individually or is there a faulty door lock?
Central locking motor may be needing attention.

Presumably the central locking doesn't work at all, with key in either door or off button?

Is there an aftermarket alarm fitted ?

Front Door locks/motors seem to give trouble on these, they have little mirco switches which can fail,
I replaced both on my st200,It got the central locking working again.

did you try using just the key in the lock on both front doors?? or is it just gone altogether.

i think i still have a locking module from a 200 buried in the shed ,your welcome to it if you want(if i can find it):o

I really miss my st200,the sound from that v6:cool:
ps(if your reg is 00D16238 then thats my old st);)

only one of these...and I only just got it so don't even know where to start looking yet.,,sounds like I'll be stripping out the door cards....

key and lock don't operate the central locking, although the doors open fine individually..

those yokes gave very little trouble with central locking, have a quick look at the body contol module , up beside the accelarator black box with around 5/6 yellow plugs in it, make sure there all lock home properly if so , disconnect all of them and leave it around 5 mins to power down and lock them back in again and see if this helps ,, just make sure youve gona tru all your fuses first

    had a better look today...

open the drivers door with key and ONLY that door opens...open pass door with key and all open. (presumably unit in drivers door faulty)

Remote locking now works about 1 time in 20 (assume weak battery...do I have to go to a Ford dealer for a new one?) Will lock car but only unlocks drivers door when stood that side)

boot lock has ceased to function with key (works 1 time in twenty with remote)

You can Change the battery your self, its a cr2032,
Then insert the key into the ignittion & turn from OFF to ignition lights 4 times(off-on,off-on,off-on,off-on)you will hear a beep or tone, when you hear it press any button on the key,you will hear another tone or the red light will flash in the clock(i cant remember):)

ps,any mk2 mondeo drivers door lock will fit an st200(once the car had central locking)

i bought , rude not to at that price! thx 4 the link..

(any idea why the boot wont open with the key anymore...it was when i got it!

The central locking is working better now...maybe lack of use hasnt helped it... works perfectly if I stand on the passenger side! Is there no internal boot release on these? surprising!

with the boot open take a look behind the plastic cover for the rear light cluster, see if everything looks ok,sounds like something has come loose or broken off,the solinoid is working so its not electrical?,
you can fit your own internal boot switch very easy look herehttp://www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Boot_Release_-_Internal_Switch_-_Mk2;)

also look here for a wealth of information http://www.fordwiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Category:Mondeo_Mk2:)

central locking is still improving...the car was off the road for some 12/24 months so it was just still asleep maybe... new batteries will help when they come too I'm sure.

installed the new battery and the central locking seems to be very good now. Interestingly, one push of the button opens the drivers door and a second push opens all the others. Not sure that's how it's meant to be, but so long as it works!

Thats normal, you can change it by pressing both lock/unlock buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds or till your hear a tone or lights flash(can't remember which):)
