    Hi All,
I'm looking for some payroll software for my company, there is only one employee and that's myself. Sage were doing free software for small businesses but can't seem to find access to it anywhere, guess they stopped offering it.

I know thesaurus are pretty cheap and the Sage One cloud system looks good.
Anyone know of any really cheap payroll solution?
Anyone tried to do payroll using an excel template? Could be easy with just 1 employee.

    Thanks

Sage did have a product previously called Quickpay Free which did free payroll for up to five employees. This product is no longer available.

However Sage One could be worth looking at. Its easy to use online payroll which includes 24/7 support and starts at €6 per month for the 1-5 employee variant. You can take a free 30 day trial which would help you to evaluate if it would be suitable for you.

I am connected to the company

    Hi Herbalist,

Just curious, do sage have a multicompany payroll product?

    Thanks

    Hi hjr

Sage One is designed to be single company. It can be used for multiple companies, you would just need to have a separate login and password for each company. For accountants who need to be able to access multiple payrolls for clients there is a free Sage One accountants edition which will allow viewing of and access to client's payrolls.

If you prefer a package that is designed to be multi-company and which allows a multi company login and selection screen my advice would be to look at Sage Micropay which is a desktop payroll package. Micropay offers multi company licences and allows you to choose what employee numbers you need to cater for.

I didnt find the link to the 2014 calculator but it works well in 2013.

Another poster mentioed payback.ie. For what you are looking for I'll throw my hat behind that one too. Its €130 for a bureau version & it does all the ros xml files/emails payslips etc so you cant go far wrong with it.
