I've rung Citizens Information and they haven't a clue but from the Department website it says there is now a Telephone Allowance of €9.50 per month. It doesn't mention line rental at all - is this gone? My parents get this payment, as far as I understood it was free line rental plus a certain number of free calls. As the…

As the biggest part of the bill is the line rental they will have to get rid of the phone if it's no longer covered by the Household Benefits package. Anyone got information?
