Just as the infrastructure budget keeps getting cut, these new signs start popping up all over Cork city.

One I passed outside of Union Chandlery last night told me never to use a mobile phone while driving.

Maybe it would be better to keep your eyes on the road when driving instead of reading a glary sign telling you something that any idiot should know. Are the NRA/RSA actually trying to cause accidents ?

The other option was to put a big picture of Auntie Gaybo with a condescending comment underneath on lamp poles. However, after a detailed review by multiple highly paid panels of experts it was decided that if anything this would significantly increase single car accidents hence the use of electronic signs.

They might be more use if the biys weren't printing Cryptic Crossword clues on them...

Other road users about? Jesus, I wouldn't have spotted them if the big yellow sign had not told me.

The same have popped up around Galway in the past two months - currently advertising a park and ride I think.

Saw that one today going from Tuam to Galway.

There is/used to be one outside of Listowel telling you how fast you were going :D
