According to the Garda.ie website the following stations are closing kilconly, Menlough, Kitullagh, kilchreest, kilcolgen, leenane, new inn, shanaglish, Ballymoe.

Gort and Loughrae are to be amalgamated.

I have called to the one in Kiltullagh 4/5 times . Noone there. Ended up driving to Loughrea or Athenry. Did not even realise there was one in New Inn to be honest.

Leenane been effectively closed since late last year, the sole member stationed there is on leave and was not replaced.

Can any body explain where there is real savings to be made in closing these stations ? The gardai stationed there still have to be paid the only savings is in electricity, telephone and maybe some repairs.
