http://www.thomann.de/ie/numark_mixtrack_pro.htm - this seems to be the most decent basic one for around your budget - so I'm told.

Here's one on ebay with Headphones, might get a decent deal: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/NUMARK-MIXTRACK-PRO-DJ-SOFTWARE-CONTROLLER-WITH-AUDIO-I-O-/281031973809?pt=UK_MusicalInstruments_Other_Pro_Audio_Equipment&hash=item416ecf9bb1#ht_2007wt_1186

Lads are there any others worth considering?

Budget will be a problem for sure. If he's half serious, I'd wait a little while and buy something decent. Combine a christmas and birthday. That said, I've heard excellent things about this: http://www.thomann.de/ie/maudio_torq_xponent.htm and have always wanted to get one to play with as a second controller.

A little dated at this stage but a very good machine. Better build quality that anything Numark and actually surprised at the new price. It was over €350 I think when new. Might get one myself!

This isn't a very helpful reply, but you're a seriously nice sibling!

Ironclaw, I had the Xponent for years and absolutely loved it - prob my favorite controller ever to use - however, as soon as I got the VCI-100 and the Audio2DJ - I realised that the sound quality out of the Xponent was actually ****e. So, if it's just for home mixing and messing about it's a great choice but if it's for playing gigs I'd look at something else - the Mixtrack Pro is prob the best one for the money OP.

Alternatively, my old VCI-100SE + Audio 2DJ sound card are for sale from the guy I sold them to - this cost me €600 a few years ago - it's on adverts here: http://www.adverts.ie/turntables/vestax-vci-100-special-edition-dj-controller-ni-audio-2-soundcard/2136447 for €280 but you'll probably get it for 200. This is a great litte unit with the best software and a high quality soundcard. Let me know OP if you are interested

Yeah I heard that alright about the sound quality. I was only ever interested in one as something to play around with if I didn't fancy setting up fully. Just saw the new price and thought it would be the best of the bunch with all the plastic tripe on the market these days.
