So, I recieved a parking ticket in September.
€40 within 28 days (didnt pay)
€60 within 56 days (didnt pay)

Then I get a letter from a solicitor on
behalf of the county council looking for €100.

I'm in a good bit of debt as it is, but I managed to get €60 euro together & sent that to the solicitors.

So, am I still going to jail?

I'd imagine so, they have a special wing in Mountjoy for just for parking offenders so you won't be mixed in with the other general prisoners but you do have to share the canteen and recreation room/gym but I know one person who was too afraid so he stayed in his cell all the time for the 3 months he was there.

Appeal, appeal, appeal, the tickets, it will slow down the process and you might get them forfeited.

The joy has a canteen? I thought they ate in cell? (Along with everything else)

You really, really don't wanna know. They're treated with total contempt though, even the nicknames they have for parking offenders are so incredibly demeaning that I'd get banned for repeating them.

Good luck to you, OP. I hope you're going to be ok. :(
