Sound not working on remote...

Does any one know how to fix the sound on the UPC remote control? It won't turn up or down the sound and wont mute either, the rest of the remote works perfectly. I know there is a way of tuning it back it's just i don't remember how to do it and i want to avoid ringing them if i can. Anyone know how? Thanks.

Is TV connected to UPC box using SCART or HDMI cable? What is exact model number of TV and UPC box?

If you leave a SKY remote for more than 10 minutes with dead batteries or no batteries it forgets the TV code.

I'm guessing the same is true of the UPC one - or kids playing with the remote.
