So yesterday I was smoking the last smoke in my box and a panic set in when I realised I had run out. Not just that, but after a tough week of bills and unforeseen car expenses I also realised I had NO MONEY. Payday was two days away. Cue panic as I tried to think of who I could borrow a tenner off to buy fags. Then I stopped and wondered over the reasons behind my stress, panic and anxiety.

Why the hell was I allowing myself to feel this way? Why was I bothering with smokes? Twenty plus a day, for ten years, what kind of stupidity is that!?

So I smoked my last one yesterday and charged up an e-cig kit my boyfriend's mother gave me ages ago. Unfortunately the thing doesn't bloody work (this realisation was met with hysterical laughter this morning) but I'm going to soldier on regardless. I can do this.

Today I am actually dizzy with withdrawl which is making work hard. I took a quick walk to Dunnes and the cold, brisk air did help clear my head somewhat. I bought lots of fruit to keep my mouth busy and I'm munching away now. Today will be a long day.

    Good for you, Jaxxy!
Have a good read through some threads on this forum for inspiration when you feel tempted - it helped me a lot.
    Stay strong!

You can do it Jaxxy. Your story is almost the same as mine when I found myself ready to go out in lashing rain at 1am to walk to a 24 hour shop for smokes. That was 3 days short of 13 years ago.

    You can do it.

Thanks a mill lads! Oh, and spurious, I've been there. Such is the control they have over us.

Last night was really hard, almost impossible and I nearly completely caved. Instead I went to bed early and tried to sleep through the cravings. This morning seems better than yesterday, although it'll probably get worse as the day goes on. I guess I just have to hang on!

Day by day Jaxxy for a couple of weeks or so. It really does get easier after that.
