Yeah, but we're talking about a 300 euro budget here. And you can easily get a nice city break even at 200 euro.

With 250 you can get a decent hotel room in Paris for 60 euro a night through a hotels website and you can get return flights to Paris in January for 57 a head. You worry about your spending money closer to the time.

We got a 4* hotel room next to the Jardins de Trocodero for 45 euros a night from a website. You can get budget flights and great deals on hotels. All it takes is a bit of shopping around.

NOT these. I'd be disappointed if my boyfriend got me something really generic like a voucher and a bottle of perfume. It's so lazy and impersonal! I'd much rather he spent a tiny amount of money on me and put some thought into it.

I like the idea of a weekend away somewhere for both of you, and then so she has something to actually open on the day, (this is something I was just recommending to someone else earlier!) you could get get her a picture frame like this and put various pictures of both of you, and her and her friends, her family, etc in it. It wouldn't cost much (you can get really cheap prints from www.photobox.ie - 6cent a print or something) and it would be something really special that she would love and have forever. You would get SUPER brownie points for something like that!
