    Hi There

    Would greatly appreciate some help.
I am trying to work out what the take home amount is if I was to have a 40 hour week minimum wage job, with no pension contricbtuion, overtime. Just standard income tax, prsi and usc. Just not sure how to work it out.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Regards
    JB

Without knowing your personal circumstances it's difficult to say but looking at one of the bazillion tax calculators available via google: €17,115.36 p/a

As Procrastastudy says - there are factors that affect your take home pay, such as if you are married, have kids, have other tax allowances or credits etc etc. Some industries also get additional reliefs and exemptions.

Also bear in mind that if you have a lower salary, you might then qualify for a medical card which means you will have a lower PRSI class and USC.

If you have been out of work for a while there is a scheme called Revenue Job assist which you might be eligible for - I forgot about this myself until recently when another boardsie mentioned it in a thread.
