I have got two free tickets for a Christmas music night! :)

My friend is new to Ireland but I will be working before the concert so I can't give her a lift.

Can anyone tell how she can get to Farmleigh, Castleknock from town by public transport???

    THANKS!

It's not particularly easy. Taxi might be the easiest. You need to find out the time and what gates and roads will be open - in Farmleigh and the Phoenix Park. The roads aren't particularly well lit in the area.

    The house is here: http://maps.google.ie/?ll=53.365058,-6.359426&spn=0.001629,0.005284&t=h&z=18

You could use Dublin Bus route 37 to the Castleknock Gate (main road) of the Phoenix Park and then walk for 20-25 minutes or route 25, 26, 66, 66a, 66b, 67 to the Chapelizod Gate and then walk for 40 minutes.

Alternatively get a bus/tram/train most of the way there, then a taxi.

Yep. Easiest way as above would be the 37 to castleknock gate of the park and then walk across to Farmleigh. 20 mins to the door.

I agree with Victor. The 37 will bring you closest at the Castleknock Gate, but it still involves a 15/20 minute walk into Farmleigh. During the day that is fine, but quite dark on a winters evening.

Could you perhaps meet her from the bus?

Get off at Mayos pub and take a left as if going towards Chapelizod. Take another left at the Farmleigh houses and traffic lights. At the end of that road there is a pedestrian gate thats at the front gate lodge of Farmleigh house, from there you just turn right and the house is just up a bit.
After saying that, seeing that your friend is new to Ireland then id suggest the easiest and safer option would be a taxi or a hackney cab.
