    Hi,
So I'm tryin to come up with a good present for the girlfriend.

I was thinking either the Wii U, or a new laptop. Her current one is on its last legs.

Anyway, while I'm pricing the Wii U, I'm also looking at laptops, and found these 3 on Amazon:

    £370 - Lenovo G580 15.6-inch Laptop (Dark Bronze) - (Intel Core i3 3110M 2.4GHz Processor, 4GB RAM, 500GB)
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009RGB5EI/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers

    £378 - Acer Aspire V3-571 15.6-inch Laptop - Black (Intel Core i3 3110M 2.4GHz, 6GB RAM, 500GB, USB3)
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009R156OI/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=computers

    £399 - Samsung 350V5C 15.6-inch Laptop (Silver) - (Intel Core i3 3110M 2.4GHz Processor, 6GB RAM, 500GB, USB3)
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-350V5C-15-6-inch-Laptop-Silver/dp/B009SJCW50

All 3rd gen i3's with USB3 (not sure about the Lenovo actually). I think the screen res is 1366x768 of all 3, since neither mention it.

I'd say £400 is the upper limit. The Wii U is a good bit cheaper than that, so I'm kinda leaning for that, but with games etc, it'll prob cost the same.

So, can anyone give me advice on these? Or link to a site selling them cheaper, or better ones?

    Thanks.

Would you go for a tablet? Samsung tab 2.

I'd go for the samsung for the extra bit.Any acer i've had i've had problems with, especially with build quality (buttons etc).Haven't really got much experience with lenovo myself though.

Nah, she already has a tablet, and was talking about getting me a nexus 7.
