Flaps jammed? Higher than normal pitch attitude and faster approach speed, I'd hazard a guess.

Whats the International response time for fire services arrival at a plane? (seems to be about 40 seconds in the video)

3 minutes max to anywhere on the airfield.

They were prior warned so they were waiting by the runway , what you are talking about is if there was a crash how long to respond without notice.

I saw lads in the tower in shannon doing a training exercise before with all the response vehicles,a flare was randomly lit and tower had to coordinate with all the emergency services to the exact location

Interesting to see the two 4x4 pickups far back. Doing a scan of the runway for FOD I presume?

A slight tangent I know, but if I remember correctly when that plane crashed in Waterford Cork airport, weren't they on the scene in something like 90 seconds? And there was a fire which they extinguished quickly. Was very impressed and reassured by that. There would definitely have been more tragic deaths that day only for them.

Sorry, yes meant to say Cork, not Waterford.
    Thx.

Yes, great response by the Cork lads. The fact that the crash site was almost at the nearest point from the runway to the fire station was a help.

Had a flight from Paris to Dub some years ago on this exact type and we had to return to CDG about 15 minutes into the flight. Think it was a flaps problem too as first officer came down through the cabin to do a visual inspection of the wings.
