Please note that this is for arts. If one subject requires that you do a project as well as an exam and you get 35 percent aveeage between the two, can you still pass by comensation. What i mean is if you get below 35 percent in the exam but your essay grade brings the agregate grade to 35 percent.

    Thanks

You have to get 35% in your exam before they count your continuous assessment. Passing by compensation depends on your subjects. You'd have to ask the department. You'd be better off failing and repeating anyway.

Is this just for the college of arts and social sciences?

    * college of humanities and celtic studies :P

No idea, I'm in commerce and a masters but she said it was a university thing. Always was that continuous didn't count unless you sat the exam though.

The 35% rule is a Business School thing as fair as I know, other schools may have similar caps on the CA being brough in, but as far as I know the 35% rule in Commerce, BIS and all the other Business School programmes is the highest in the University.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was also wondering. Can you repeat a final year arts module in August and still get an honours degree? If, for example, you get an aggregate percentage of 50 percent, would you still get a 2.2 honours degree or would it be classed as a pass degree.

    Thanks again
