Help with committee

I am looking for some information regarding a community sports field. Three clubs are involved in developing this field. Recently we as a committee voted on an inclusion of an astro turf. Majority voted no. This was about five months ago. No mention since of this until now suddenly we have found out that four of our committee members have went ahead with the planning, grant application etc without any mention to anybody else. Can they do this? Or legally is this wrong to go against the committee vote?

Any information will be very helpful on this situation.

You couldn't possibly get useful advice without the advisor seeing the constitutional documentation of the committee and the clubs involved (often a trust of some sort is involved) in order to assess the propriety of what's happened and whether the steps taken in the name of the committee are binding on the clubs.

So you need to go to a solicitor and instruct him or her fully as regards what's gone on.

    Agree with Reloc8

do you need planning for astro-turf, or are lights etc involved?

    I'd agree with Reloc8

For all I know one club could own the field and include other clubs (that rent the field) as a courtesy in the committees but the decisions are the ones of the club that own it.

Or all three clubs could rent the field from a third party and the committee members in favour the astro turf did an end run with planning grant application ect to the owners.

You ahevn't given any of the information needed so I would advise seeing a solicitor
