    Good topic.

Would love to see Meleady vs Hodgers.....could be a great fight and surely must happen at some stage? Possibly the biggest domestic fight there is right now.

Personally would luv to see;aaron o callaghan v dane beauchamp....anthony kane v saiyok...andy gray v Luke turner or Greg wooton
Aaron cause the fight was previously arranged and i think it would be class..
Kane cause Craig Jose fought saiyok and done well
Andy gray because it would be a big big fight between either turner or wooton and he just beat the next ranked fighter (brian totty) in style over the weekend

    Harrison v Pinca !!
alanrebelsw is bang on with kane v saiyok , id love to see that

Andy actualy weighed in v totty 2kg under the weight,61.5kg,so him v daren oconnor, paul kapowic, keith mclaughlin n jonno chipchase would be all top matches.

Nearly sure he fought wotton a few years back.

I wouldn't care much for the Kane v Saiyok. I think Anthony's style is far more suited to K-1. I know he stopped craig Jose where Saiyok couldn't but having watched both fights from ringside I can honestly say one was a brawl and the other was Muay Thai.

without a doubt Kane is a true K-1 fighter but id still like to see both fighting as they are both walk forward and attack fighters , would be a good spectacle

Andy grey beat greg wooton im pretty sure a few years ago dwn here in cork.

Stephen hodgers vs meleady be a real good fight..

Paul OKeeffe vs Donkey I tink every1 wants too see happen.

Brian long vs Aslan the rematch would be exciting.

Gavin sheehan vs karl hodgers.. Gavins up a coming and getting stronger with every fight would love to see him fight karl

    Liam harrison vs pinca
Aaron o callaghan vs paul okeeffe
    dean james vs rungravee
Meleady r hodgers vs andy gray

Loads more but my fingers are killing me haha

Andy lost to wooton in a very close fight....
Yep andy weighed in at 62 saturday night..he never really loses weight for his fights...and has fought up to 65kg.

I wood like to see the top imc fighters against the top of non imc fighters fight once a year...the best of the best it could be called..get a nice friendly rivalry going and some bragging rites for either side..put it in a big arena and I'm sure it wood sell out fairly quick..probly never happen though

    If u can't join 'em....beat 'em

I think its a bit soon for Brian to be looking for a rematch personally. He's extremely talented and he did a lot better than I thought he would but he's just not big enough to beat Aslan IMO, maybe after a year or so.

I'd like to see Stephen Mulvaney vs Islam Bisayev. Mulvaney did really well against Ormond there during the year and I reckon he would be a good match for Islam.

    Also...
    Robert McGivern vs Alan Weaver
    Aslan vs Adrian Wedalowski rematch
    Andy Grey vs Yetkin Ozkul

Anthony Kane vs Tim Thomas or James France
    Josh Palmer vs Kevin Ross
    Ste Meleady vs Juan Mario
    Rob Ng vs Panikos Yusef
Andy Gray vs Darren O Connor or John Dennis if active
Loads of good domestic match up's out there especially around the 70kg non IMC with a couple of lads looking for shot at Shane O Niell's title.
Have'nt really being following whats going on in the IMC lately so not really sure whose active and who has improved but i'm sure there's a good few tear up's planned for the new year but there the few Irish internationals i'd like to see.

    Big time.

Cant see the meleady and hodgers fight happening,to much weight difference
Meleady fights 59kg/61 kg and hodgers 63.5 kg
would be a great fight tho if the 2 were at the same weight.
Hodgers vs Andy grey, luke turner or panikos yusef
    Meleady vs dean james

On a more domestic level i would like to see Pat hickey against any of the other top lads at 57-59 kg,who are the Irish champs at them weights

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 105 ✭✭gregmarah

would you make 57 pat ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭Peetrik

Haha I'd say you're the only one who wants to see 5 rounds of hugging Mugger.

I'd probably make 57 Greg but I'd have no interest in competing regularly at that weight. I like my food too much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 62 ✭✭mugger

who is the Irish Champ at 59kg

Vacant AFAK, nobody wants to fight Steo for it haha.

Open to being corrected but neither hearty or hodgers (current ranked at 59 on imc rankings) have a hope of making 59, so that leaves Andrew Doyle as the top contender unless McGivern or O'Connell fancy moving up a division. Actually have Doyle and McGivern ever fought?

Again open to being corrected on any of that, all off the top of my head

your self and Donkey would be a good clinch spectacle if ye were to meet at 57 :) hint hint wink wink at the powers to be :)

Steo against Andrew would be a good scrap IMO. I saw Andrew fight a lad from the UK who I can't remember up in Louth and it was balls to the wall from start to finish with both lads taking a fair bit of damage. You'd have to favour Steo to take it, but I think it would be good to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 62 ✭✭mugger

ste and Andrew would be a mismatch IMO,Andrew is a great fighter but no were near Ste at the min
Pat and Andrew much better fight and for a title at 59kg

Haha, well blame the folks who haven't posted with their nonIMC matches
    then Eddie.

I'm in the same boat as Khannie in the sense that I mostly just see the IMC shows so I'm not as familiar with the nonIMC fighters.

So what are your picks for.the year then Eddie, genuinely interested to know.

Dont think mccalig would be able to take the punches from long. He gasses early in the rounds too.

Long vs brackon is almost definatly on the cards.

You could say the same about Sean (not gassing, taking punches). I fought sean and train with Karl and IMO Karl hits harder. It's one fight I would love to see.

Without a doubt, sure he is irish champion and as you say he has been in with the best in the country. But when you have 2 guys with KO power anything can happenand I think it would make an exciting fight.
