long story short I will be working 3 days fri-sun with 4 days off

Can I claim from social welfare for those days that i'm not working?

I have been looking at some fas courses and wanted to do 1-2 of them do I have to lose my job to get on a fas course even if i'm not paid to do the fas course it would still be an option I would take.

Have your days been reduced,or were you claiming social welfare and got a part time job?

Sorry for not being clear my days were reduced.

I previously was on the jobs bridge then was taken on and now have had my days reduced. I haven't received any social welfare payments for over a year.

If you were working full time and your days have been reduced you can claim for those days.If you have enough stamps in 2010 you can apply for JSB.if not go for JSA.

JSB:You must have suffered a substantial loss of employment in any period of six consecutive days to be eligible for Jobseeker's Benefit. This means that you must have lost at least one day's employment and as a result of this loss be unemployed for at least 3 days out of 6 days. Your earnings must also have been reduced because of the loss of employment.
