Sticky Bottle reporting that Stephen Clancy - who has sometimes posted here IIRC - has signed a two year deal with Team Type 1.

Congrats to him. Best of luck for the future.

Delaney?robfowl. You're reading too many old ras books.
Best of luck to Stephen.Team type 1 founder is a real nice fella. One of my own sons who races also has type1 diabetis and he has been a source of great help to him in helping him to get his blood sugars right for racing. My son actually put Stephen in touch with TT1 earlier this year when he was diagnosed.Really hopes it works out well for Stephen as im sure he's gone to the right place.

    A reasonable assumption

I've snipped out his boards user name in one post. Stephen in the past has indicated that he'd prefer his real name and user name not to be linked publicly.

    Thanks

and just to add to Vlad's note above, it's actually against Boards rules to identify, or speculate over the identity of, anonymous posters (if posters voluntarily reveal their own identities on Boards that's fine)

Congratulations to him, I hope it's just the start of a long, winning career. I also hope TT1 have sorted out some of their shakier relationships with former riders and are conducting their business a little more professionally than in some previous instances...

    I think it's a great opportunity.

I actually raced against Stephen earlier in the year when he did his stagiare stint with TT1 here in Georgia. Or perhaps raced behind him is more accurate. By the time one of his teammates told me there was an Irish guy riding for them, he was gone up the road.

Found him after the race and we chatted for a bit. I have to say, he seems like a very sound fella. Totally missing was any hint of the arrogance that you sometimes see with neo-pros.

It will be interesting to see how Phil's team do now that they are pulling from a smaller pool of riders. I hope 2013 will be as successful as 2012 for them.

And Stephen, if you're following this, I'll see you on Airport Ride soon.
