I hope this is in the right place, if not, mods please feel free to move. I have been thinking about buying a 4 wheel drive for ages & i have €5500 to spend, commercial jeep would suit me fine, i have a small van for work, but occasionally i need to pull a trailer, but mostly jeep would be for recreation, I really like the look of the Nissan pathfinder, but i have been told they are prone to engine & gearbox problems,im looking at navara's, ford rangers, I would consider a santa fe but i dont think they are great to pull, head fried, any advice or points of view welcome

Only think i know on these is that the intercooler is a weak point. So provided that has been changed to the updated model then theres one item that is off the list.

Don't the 2.5 dci engines in these yokes have a reputation for imploding?

My dad had a navara new model in 2006 and we went off roading with a 2006 pathfinder. We found the pathfinder to be better off road it had better ground clearence specially at the back as there was less overhang. Some of the places that pathfinder went in 2wd mode were unreal never mind 4wd mode. They are both good jeeps but I don't know what they are like in terms of reliability when they age a bit.
