Firebird Popular 90 Boiler

    Just got oil in today, have bled the boiler (firebird popular 90) but it still wont turn on. When I bled the bolier, air and oil did come out. Have tried turning it on from the button in the front of it about 10 times but keeps cutting out.

    Is there anything else I can try before I call the plumber. This always worked in the past but maybe needs a service now..

    does it actually start and run for a few seconds and then cut out

    it may be a dirty photocell the reset button you are pressing is this on a grey control box if yes there is a small screw lower left hand side of this box unscrew and pull control box straight back at the front of this box there is a photocell attached underside clean the center of this cell and try to fire again

    should have advised to isolate power before going at burner apologies

    It needs a service every year by right. If its a dirty photocell then it's dirty for a reason. Cleaning it is only a temporary fix. You'll have to find out why it's getting dirty in the first place
