I am going to be flying from Phuket to Melbourne at the end of January.

I am trying to figure out what flight to book at the moment.

I was looking at Malaysian Airlines which is meant to be a good airline to fly with but then the price is more expensive.

Air Asia seems to be the cheapest airlnie to fly with and they dont have long stopovers either.

Has anybody flown with Air Asia beffore and what were they like?

Anybody recommend any other airlines to fly with on this route?

    Thanks

Is Air Asia a point-to-point airline like other LCCs? i.e. their one ways are not loaded versus their return prices. If you'r only flying one way this might make them cheaper. They are an LCC in contrast to Malaysia Airlines who are full service.

yeah they seem to be a low cost carrier, similar to ryanair.

have you any experience of travelling with them?

Have flown with air Asia Bangkok-Saigon, kuala lumper-Bali, Singapore-hanoi and a few more places and found them good, same lines as Ryan air.... Have a look a jetstar airlines another cheaper airline but not great reviews!!!

I've flown long-haul with Air Asia on two occasions (KL-Coolangatta & KL-London Stansted) and couldn't fault them tbh.

in the link above i am looking at different flights from Phuket to Melbourne.

for the prices quoted, what all is included in the price?

would those prices include baggage and all that or would they have to be add-ons which would push the prices up further?

if this was the total price and the quality of the airline is fairly decent, that 320 flight is very very appealing

    They're a low-cost carrier - you'll pay for baggage, food & on-board entertainment etc.

The add-ons weren't excessive though (when I flew with them), check their site for fees.

booked with Air Asia. worked out about €450 all in for baggage, food, seats with extra leg room. happy enough with the price overall.

what is the quality of the food like?

what is the in-flight entertainment like also?
