Can anyone advise when you can get a childs PPS number - its for their parent to claim One Parent family tax credit as their ex wife wont provide the PPS numbers. They are all working and living in Dublin if that matters.

The person will need to contact the department of social protection as they're the ones who issue the numbers in the first place.

The person will probably need to prove that they are a guardian of the child to get this information.

Ok how would they prove they are the parent? They have the same surname and obviously he would have home address, birthdays etc.

Presumably he was registered as the father at the time of the birth so his PPSN/name/address is linked to the child's.

Just to give you an update. They would not give him the PPS numbers as the child benefit payment was being paid solely to his ex and under Data protection he wasnt permitted to the PPS information.....

    Not good...

Apply for a European Health Insurance Card and the PPS no. will be on it.
