Wireless Heat Zoning

    Hi all,

Recent refurb with a 3-channel zone. Horstmann controls. I remember asking for another zone but was convinced not to get it early on in the refurb and moved onto other things. Problem is our largest room - kitchen sitting room dining room - is north facing and quite cold. Our downstairs stat is across from the radiator in the hall but of course turns of well before the other room warms up. I'm disappointed.

Is it possible to put in a wireless stat in the bigger room and link it in with the downstairs channel?

    Thanks.

For this reason you were right to request the extra zone

Adding a stat is not your solution as your plumber still has the other rooms connected to the same zone

Have you tried turning the stat up fully to see if your room heats better? are the rads heating up properly? have you insulated your outside walls upon your refurb? Are the rads sized correctly? If the answer is yes to all of the above you may be financially snookered into moving your stat and coping with the extra heat in the rest of your downstairs or you could put thermostatic rad valves.

If you have turned your stat up fully already, I can't really see a hallway reaching 30'c with air changes and high ceiling, supposing you have your stairs in the hall, I would think your problem is down to rad sizing and positioning
