Not entirely sure if this is the correct forum to be asking in

I've a 05 Toyota Avensis and a Samsung Galaxy S2. I would like to get a hands free kit to match. I don't know how these work as I've never had one before. I do need good volume as I have a slight hearing difficulty.

    Many thanks.

Would a radio with Bluetooth be any good to you? I have one and just use a cradle from lidl.

Unnecessary, the avensis has stereo controls on the wheel and the stereo is integrated and not prone to theft.

Ok, I'm a bit lost here :) I'm open to options once they fulfill my needs for volume (and recharging I suppose but I already have a lead and good holder).

By far the best kits are the Parrot ones...
I used to have the parrot mki9200 (about 270 fitted) and it took care of all my needs plus my music playback as well.
They have cheaper models if you don't want to stream music etc..

Samsung do a vehicle dock kit, which has a slide-in panel at the bottom that connects the charger.

It's just a slightly more elegant solution to a universal stand and a normal charger. You'd combine it with any Bluetooth kit.

Agree with this. Had a avensis and I had a parrot installed. Easy to use and does MP3 via USB, Bluetooth, or iPhone.

Parrot chips are good, but the kit does not integrate into your car stalk buttons on the steering wheel, is sitting in the middle of your dash and does not offer charging and playing for phones.

I prefer solutions such as Grom Audio or Dension as they are designed for specific cars, the kits are hidden and fully integrate with your OEM car stereos, stalk and even OEM screens when you have them.
Plus they would be a lot cheaper than 270 euros fitted.

Just checked for my car, and the hardware is €236. Plus installation. Halfords have the Parrot MK9100 for 154. Factor in installation and "extra" cables, it might wind up to be a similar price.

I am actually interested in this though, my skoda has a multi function display which can display phone numbers etc, if the car had been specced with bluetooth originally. Would it fully integrate into it?

Actually, just remembered my steering wheel doesn't have any controls on it. I'd need a new wheel with buttons, and probably more cables and coding.

Lots are wireless so no connection between phone a kit besides BT. I used to have a parrot MK6000 + a OEM samsung dock in the car(new car now so not needed anymore), was perfect cost me about 150 all in with the wiring harness and fitted myself as it was wireless only really had to worry about where the mic was placed. You don't get the control using the steering wheel controls but those kits are big money from what I've seen so far.

Depends of the car really. If your car is recent and uses fibre optic, yes the kits are more expensive.
You can get kits with BT, working stalk, usb port, microphone, iphone/android phones charging and playing for less than 200 installed.

Ah fair enough, was only looking at the ones for my current car, where they seem to start around 370 >.< if there were that little of a difference in price then a Dinseon or similar would probably be worth it.

This is just a phone holder with BT and a Micro USB cable for most phones.
This is cheap, but pretty useless product if you ask me.
Anything like this that uses its own speaker is not as good as a kit that integrates into your own car stereo/speakers.

Might suit some though. To me it is just dirty.

You can't even stream music from this kit back to your radio.

They said they wanted something they could recharge with and volume. They didn't say "i want something that streams music into my radio".

05 E60, still trying to work out what I wanna do for some MP3 support, Dinsion looks like the best option at the moment as I want the sheering wheel controls to work, just gotta buy the stuff and get the idrive programmed.

Fibre optic it is in your case I am afraid.
The Dension products are one of the best and one of the very few that fully integrate in your car, using buttons stalk and iDrive screen to provide music browsing and BT.

Didn't realise these things were so expensive, it'll have to go on the back burner.

    Parrot do these: http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits
Which integrate with existing steering wheel controls.

Cool thanks, one step further in the right direction. About time. Still too expensive and lacks features.
