Anyone else surprised at how easily Trout won?

I thought Cotto would suffer early but then come strong but for only 2 rounds in the middle did he really make an impression on Trout. In the end Trout finished the stronger and I thought Cotto may have been hurt once or twice.

Alvarez was prob sickened to see another agreed fight go up in smoke after Lopez beat Victor Ortiz earlier in the year.

Probably was, but it would be nice to see him step up and fight a legit 154lb fighter in Trout for a change. As opposed to having blown up light welterweights and completely shot opponents thrown in against him. Even as it is, Schaefer is talking about the Canelo-Cotto fight still going ahead.

As for Trout, I think it was just a stylistic nightmare for Cotto who really looked very small at the weight last night. Trout's a superb athlete and Cotto struggled to pin him down throughout the fight, and when he did get inside he wasn't strong enough to force him back onto the ropes.

Cotto's stamina doesn't look to be good enough anymore either. Against a top opponent he needs to have 5-6 in the bank heading into the championship rounds, because he's not capable of shifting up a gear when the finish line is in sight anymore.

Canelo-Trout would definitely be interesting, but the fact that is carries legit risk will probably rule it out for GBP.

trout outclassed miguel. in a perfect world trout and canelo would fight each and the winner would face floyd mayweather.
