This is an hypothetical situation. Let's say I want to take a career break next year, for several months.

Are you entitled to social welfare if you quit your job?

If you quit they may impose a waiting period of up to 9 weeks (IIRC)

It's a bit of a grey area, but generally you are not entitled to JSB when on a career break.

A career break typically means that you are not looking for employment, which means you're not entitled to the dole.

You are entitled to the dole after 9 weeks if you voluntarily leave your job, but if you're not searching for work, you can't claim.
