We called one a few weeks ago down off a hill into an unused quarry, if you conceal yourself and stay still you will get them in close. We called another in July into 15 yds.Good callers on Danthompsongamecalls.com

Best caller out there I think. When you can get a fox up beside you nearly every time in day light thats why I can say its a proper caller.

Its the best out there,I seen a mink one evening running to it when I was out with invincible and his friend. He had to buy one as he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Mags and crows going in like hell at us then a mink made his way. I've more foxs shot from using it. If you can use it nicely and dont go mad calling with it I find it best results. I found a video before of a norwegin bloke using it for foxing.
Type this into youtube and you will see a small video of one in action. I seen foxs run like mad towards the call.

    It is NOT the PC1

It is the Weems Replica "Cottontail" that we all have.

Ours is the "Cottontail" version !!

Lads If they start to get wide to that call give this one a go

    http://www.bestfoxcall.co.uk/stainlessbestfoxcall.htm

it has a raspy sound i found it tricky to use at the start because i was using it the way the video shows you to ,with your fingers each side of it .
I stopped doing it that way and just hold it in my mouth and let my tongue bounce off the back of it while im blowing it, always pulls a fox in.

The PC1 was the other caller I was mad to try out, thats probably why I got mixed up with the name. You can let us know how it works for you. They are very well built lures. Even if they get wet the reed won't give up like others I use, TriggerPL drove over his by accident when we had to get out of his jeep to shoot a fox and when we found it it was perfect, only got scrapes from pebbles being squashed into the road by the wheel of the jeep. Takes very little breath to blow them which is another advantage of his lures. Dan Thomson the guy who designed these lures is dead but he sure knew how to make outstanding game calls. Did you look at his videos on how he demo-straights how to blow them. He is very good at it

To be honest lb1981 you should look at the videos on youtube 1st on how they use them,if you can copy how they use them you will have much greater results.very easy caller to use. Did you notice it takes very little breath to get a loud call from them. You will also notice mags and grey backs will go mental when they hear it. I find the best thing to do is call for a minute then stop calling for 2 minutes and go again.

Most of those American calls are pure crap! Way too loud, work for coyote, but useless for fox's most of the time! I take it this one is an exception?

yeah i watched all the videos before i bought them ,they are very similar to other wooden calls i have, i can use them but there is no difference in the pitch of the cotton tail and the jack rabbit one,it should be a higher pitch ,i rather use my bestfoxcalls as your hands are free all the time and they will pull in any type of vermin as well but sure whatever works best for you in your area.

I went to roscommon, longford, leitrim, wicklow friends brought it many other places. always results nearly every time. There is a nack in using any caller. I have the caller you have and I haven't much faith in it although your hands is free. If your blowing non stop you are wasting your time. I have a lanyard on mine, just drop when you see the fox coming in. dont call while hes coming, be greedy with the calling. I'd meet you here this summer and show you huge results, i'll call you pop them. I wont bother with a fox till the summer. Are you damping the sound with your hand at end of caller while blowing? Its best to do that. Give it time lad. I had days no foxs came and days it took 15-20mins for one to come but they come if there around and not in their burrow and I called 3 at one time one evening.
I was on same boat at start when i got mine and for 2 weeks i got nothing till i changed my way of blowing it.i'd results ever since
