Could he not fix it as part of his "service"?

Actual work no they couldn't do that, they only eyeball everything and say job done

apologies it was a repair and service call. I guess i will have to give bord gais a ring in the morning and get their take on the water drip. As i dont want to be paying twice for it.

This I do not understand with BG! Only an RGI can work inside the boiler. If there is a leak inside the boiler then a plumber, unless he is also an RGI, cannot fix it. The BG technician is an RGI so why did he not fix it. They are an absolute waste of time and a waste of space on this planet.

Never seen them clean a heat exchanger either.

I agree with the BG lads being useless AND lazy, but even if they are subbies no matter what response they are on they are at risk of losing there contract by handing out there own card and are told to tell the customer to call an RGI contracter, and who wants to work for free but how hard is it to have a buddy there and pass on the number

    OP here again.

I was told by BG that the leak was outside the "scope" of the engineer - I told them I would'nt be paying them a cent for the repair portion. My unit is leaking FFS.

Tonight I am going out with an independent contractor -I will be doing so every time from now on as well.

    Lesson learned.
