Foreign Girlfriend

Im am currently living with my girlfriend, she is 18 and i am 21.

We are in a tricky situation as she is non Eu and her visa expires summer next year. We are having problems as we cannot afford a new visa for my gf, but we both want to stay together.

We are looking at our options and considering getting married here and then moving to London to find work as there is none here for us. The problem is we are not guaranteed work there, and she would probably have to be illegal while we are there.

We dont really know what to do in our situation, we are scraping by financially right now and finding things difficult, thats why we want to move away, but we are not sure what the right thing to do is.

We want to stay together and know that getting married will at least guarantee her to be legal in Ireland but not outside of it, which is where the jobs are.

This forum is for love /relationship advice so let's look at yours : well if you love her and she loves you stay together no matter what . No matter what except marraige. At
the moment you would be getting married for all the wrong reasons - full stop.

Marriage is a big step. Its also a bigger step if you are mainly getting married so your girlfriend becomes legal. Op, how long have you been with her?

Op have you consulted a solicitor who specialises in immigration law to find out what your options are? If you cannot afford one try http://www.flac.ie/ whicever one is local to you. In order to apply via marriage you must be married 3 years.

Yeah you need a load more professional advise, there's alot more to it than just getting married. Maybe have a chat with Crosscare.ie or Flac.ie, they may be able to advise you guys.
