THis is all I can find after a quick search, its a second gen I5 too, but they are pretty decent afaik. You won't get everything you want for your budget I think. I would advise just get a windows 7 laptop and pay €15 for the upgrade, shops will be more eager to shift better spec windows 7 laptops as people will view them as outdated.

This looks good, thinking about it myself. i5, 6gb ram, 1tb hard drive. If you search "dell codes" on boards you will find a thread with a few 10% disounts. You could get this down to €450.

FNDPHFHWG2L5LK - This is 10 % off all Inspiron laptops
ZM48LBJHQR5T0? - This is 12% off all laptops

The only issues with these are that sometimes the 1st one won't work (it says "Cannot be used in conjunction with other offers") and also you have to do it tommorow (5th/12) as the first one expires tommorow and the 2nd one is only availible tommorow.

That is a terrible i5, worse than most i3s. And £550 is closer to €650.

a bit too strong statement I would say. 4 cores @ 1.7 - 2.5GHz, HD4000 graphics and long battery life is terrible?

It's not terrible in any way except if you are encoding hours of HD stuff where you could save few minutes by buying non ultra voltage.

WEI score for i5-3317U is 6.9 if that's terrible lol

Yeah, sorry an overstatement it was. But I am right in saying that some i3s are nearly better (2.4ghz) and a good i5 (3210m) is 2.5 - 3.1ghz.

i3 have worst graphics, HD3000, so gigahertz only doesn't tell whole story.

i5-3210m is a bit faster than i5-3317u but not a deal breaker since both have HD4000 graphics and that's more important in this price category where people need just to "play HD stuff smoothly"

I was looking at your order as I am in the market for a laptop.I need one for browsing, wont be gaming on it but would like a decent sized screen as I will be watching/downloading films/tv and a HDMI port. .would this be suitable or could I go with something a bit cheaper.

Its a good spec for the money. Better than what I have for my own use. I bought it for someone else.
