    Hi all

Just wondering something, i have to get a new tooth or there abouts. Basically the way it was described to me was that a pin is inserted and then the tooth is built around that.

The thing is the dentist said it'd cost about 1000 to do. Is there any way I can get any help on this like through medical card or other state scheme? Even if there is a waiting list I dont mind its just that amount of money is crazy.

The thing is as the moment my tooth or whats left of it is really painful and it would require constant temporary dressing on it to help it.

    Any help would be great.

Sounds like you need a root canal treatment and post retained ceramic crown. Unfortunately in the eyes of the government this is considered a cosmetic treatment and they will not provide any help on this. Ask your dentist about a payment plan, he/she may be glad of the business.

Another way to do it (and the one most patients forget) is get a loan form a bank and pay at back over time, the dentist may give you a few quid off for payment upfront offsetting the interest.
