Delays into/out of Warsaw Modlin

I'm flying into Warsaw's Modlin airport tomorrow with Ryanair, I have been tracking flights all week from/to that airport and there is some massive delays which I read on another forum is being caused by persistent fog in the area.

My understanding is that this new airport does not have ILS as it is an ex Soviet airbase which has been converted into a low cost airport.

I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on this? I am bracing myself for long delays tomorrow and the average delay all week appears to have been 4 hours.

Would Ryanair divert to Warsaw Chopin Okęcie Airport or else divert to one of their others bases?

Also I'm wondering what are my rights in this sort of situation where the weather is to blame? And with it being Ryanair should I even bother if it becomes a disaster.

I'm not sure if ILS is the problem, some sort of CAT level.

There is no ils in Modlin. That is the problem. It only has a VOR approach so even mist could close the airport. Generally Ryanair divert to Chopin so for many it works out better that they divert.

No ILS, only VOR on one end and visual approach on to the other. A lot of fog / low cloud here this time of year, so a lot of diversions. Have been using Lodz a bit lately (about 2 hours south west of WAW) Good Luck!

Weather was rainy this morning in Cork; however the flight left on time and arrived in Modlin without a hitch, well ahead of schedule. A lovely nice new little airport, no gimmicks, got my case of the belt and out the door to the Modlinbus.pl bus service, into Warsaw in 1hr, a few taxi touts but it is a great little place, when Ryanair works, they work great and I really can't fault them at all.

Well under half full, I heard staff at the gate saying 69 whilst I was eavesdropping in the queue. Ryanair are trying to undercut Wizz air and blow them out of the Cork-Poland market so they can have a monopoly there. My fare was €20 return for everything as I didn't take checked baggage.

It is the cheapest flight I've ever taken but totally unsustainable for FR. They have the economy of scale to do this and it is only a matter of time before one airline blinks as I'd say there is only market for one airline serving Poland from Cork.
