I'm in 6th year now and want to do arts next year and do 2 languages I haven't done in school because I'm only doing French in school.

Do I only need a C1 (H) in French to be allowed to do the other languages and start from beginners level?

Or can I get a grade in pass French to be eligible too?

    Thanks for the help.

depends on the college and the language youre going to do
look it up on each colleges website but i assume youre thinking of ucc since youre in their fourm.
from what i can remember, i think you need a HC for french, and just a pass at ordinary for italian and spanish. not sure what the story is with german. itll all be on the ucc website.

With arts, a HC1 in a language is reccommended, but not a requirement. So, if you get the points and other basic entry requirements, you're in! My sis did a BA in French and got a HB3 in the LC and found the french difficult! Apparantly the standard of french and Irish is very high in UCC
